MP Odonga Otto transferred to Kampala

County Member of Parliament Odonga Otto has been transferred to Kampala for
further treatment following his involvement in a motor accident at Katugo, Nakasongola
District on Friday morning.
The legislator was fetched by the parliament ambulance from Bishop
Ceaser Asili Hospital in Luweero where he had been admitted prior.
Otto is reported to be complaining of pain in his chest and hip
but he was talking while medics wheeled him into the waiting ambulance.
According to the Luwero District Traffic Officer, Willy Abaha, Otto who was driving his Land cruiser registration number UBA 832S rammed into a trailer registration number UAV 837 J/UAD991Q, which had overturned on the highway. Otto was heading to Kampala city from Gulu when he crashed.
“The trailer had
just gotten into an accident, a single accident, so the honorable was from the
other side and saw it at a short distance, ramming into it,” Abaha said.
However, according to Police Chief Political
Commissar Mr Asan Kasingye, the legislator was not the one driving, but his
driver was waved down by the police officers yards before the accident scene in
vain.
“This was human error. The driver was flagged
down by the Police. But, he drove on. They are out of danger. Let’s wish them
quick recovery,” Kasingye said.
