Three arrested over Christmas day murder of man

Police have arrested three people in connection to the murder of Fredrick Owere (32), a resident of Mbula village, Petta sub-county. Owere was killed on Christmas day.

The suspects have been identified as Joseph Agwom (26), Bernard Ochola (22) and Yufas Obbo.

Owere was in the company of the suspects on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. The four friends allegedly spent the day drinking at a shop in Miro one trading center in Petta sub county. They drunk and enjoyed the day late into the night.

However, Owere was found dead in a bush on Boxing Day morning. He had spear wounds to the neck. Owere's death was confirmed by the local council one chairman of the village Alfred Othieno. A post mortem was carried out at Tororo main hospital.

Richard Ochara, a relative to the deceased, believes Owere might have been killed because of a love triangle he may have been involved in.

The district police commander John Rutaagira confirmed the killing of Owere and arrest of three suspects.
