Patrick Kaddu bags hat-trick for KCCA FC as 12 time champions pummel Paidha

Patrick Kaddu netted his first hat rick of the season in sensational style as only his goals were enough to pile more misery on the embattled Paidha Black Angels in the Startimes Uganda premier league on Tuesday at their home ground in Lugogo.

Tinker man Mike Mutebi was at it again and as often is the case many a time, it worked.

Mutebi made several changes to the team that beat Mtibwa Sugar 3-0 at the same venue on Saturday in the CAF Confederations cup.

Goalkeeper Jamil Malyamunju got a rare start while the young Thomas Ikara returned to the bench as Charles Lukwago was rested.

Left back Ronald Musana made way for the young Eric Senjobe who partnered the captain Timothy Awany and Filbert Obenchan as the three central defenders.

Allan Kyambadde made way for Muzamir Mutyaba as Herbert Achai earned a rare start.

Mike Mutebi’s approach was clear from the start. With the return leg against Mtibwa Sugar slated for Saturday, Mutebi must have wanted to kill off the game early and have his players conserve some energy in the second half.

This worked to the latter.

KCCA FC was all over the newbies like a body rash from the moment centre referee Oremu George got the action underway.

In the 15th minute, Patrick Kaddu drew first blood for the home side as he headed home his first before adding a second five minutes later.

Kaddu was in goal scoring mood completing his first hat rick of the season two minutes to the interval and mark his seventh goal of the season in all competitions.

The second stanza showed signs of more goals going Paidha’s way.

The blacks looked basic and subdued barely troubling Maliyamungu save for a rare shot from Paidha captain Cromwell Rwothomio which was easily dealt with by the shotstopper.

The rest of the game was all KCCA FC but visiting goalkeeper John Kalumba did well to ensure that his side didn’t concede more.

This was Paidha’s tenth loss of the season.

Paidha’s coach Mohammed Kisekka blamed the loss on players not following instruction in the first half.

“According to the game we lost in the first half because the players were not following instructions that’s why in the second we didn’t concede any goals because the players followed the instructions and John Kalumbas tremendous performance also saved us today because we didn’t concede many goals “

Paidha remains trapped at the bottom with four points in 12 games and no signs ascending if their recent performances are anything to go by.

KCCA fc tops the log with 27 points in 12 games played. The team travels Wednesday to Tanzania ahead of their return leg in the CAF confederations cup against Tanzania’s Mtibwa sugar slated for Saturday the 22nd.
