MP Kakooza out of danger after accident, transferred to Kampala

Kabula County Member of Parliament James Kakooza is out of danger following an accident in which he was injured.

Kakooza, who was driving an Audi registration number UBB 826 F, was involved in a nasty accident at Rwebiteete, Kiruhura district along the Mbarara highway when the vehicle he was driving rammed into a boda boda carrying two passengers.

However, the Nile Post has learnt that the legislator who was first admitted at Mayanja Memorial Hospital in Mbarara has since been transferred to Kampala for further medical attention.

“He is out of danger although he has a fractured right arm. He is being transferred to Kampala for further medical treatment,” said a police source.

The accident on Saturday saw MP Kakooza’s Audi vehicle fail to break and knocked a motorcycle from behind killing Enos Kisakye, a pastor at Lwebiteete Church of God instantly. Two other people David Byamugisha and John Ngumikiriza sustained serious injuries.

This is not the first time the Kabula county legislator in Lyantonde district is involved in a nasty accident.

In 2008,Kakooza narrowly escaped death when his vehicle veered off the and rolled several times along the road to Bukanga in Mbarara.

Then, Kakooza who was being chauffeured after attending a burial sustained simple scratches but his personal assistant sustained a broken pelvis bone.
