South Sudanese young ‘tycoon’ Lawrence Lual Malong Jnr,30, who has posted several pictures of himself lying in bed wallowing in dollar bills went missing on November 14.

Information reaching The Nile Post indicates that he was taken from Milano Hotel in Kabalagala by security operatives who employed commando tactics.

According to his brother Mutarange Malong, Lual is suspected to have been kidnapped or arrested by men donning military fatigue from a hotel in Kabalagala, a Kampala suburb.

“I was called at around 11 am by employees at the hotel to inform me that he had been taken by men in army uniform and driving two army vehicles,”Mutarange told the Nile Post on phone.

Lual’s brother who was not at the hotel when the incident happened on November 14 suspects it he could have been arrested or kidnapped between 10 and 11 am.

Asked whether anything had been taken from his brother’s hotel room, Mutarange told the Nile Post that a further check in the room by the hotel staff indicated that Lual’s property was intact.

“’They checked his room but apart from his phones, a physical look at his room indicated that all other property including clothes were intact,” he said.

When contacted Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said investigations into the matter have kicked off.

“We received a complaint from the brother on November 19. We have started making investigations basing on the complaint,”Owoyesigyire told this website.

The army spokesperson, Brig.Richard Karemire however denied reports of having arrested Lual Malong jnr.

“They should report to police over the matter,”Brig.Karemire told the Nile Post.

Lawrence Lual Malong Junior came into limelight when he posted a video of himself "drowning" in a pile of US dollar notes.

In the video, he bragged about living a very expensive lifestyle including flying in a presidential jet and wearing shoes worth $10,000.

The video went viral prompting many to link him to former South Sudanese army chief, Gen.Paul Malong Awan. Some people claimed he was the general's son adding that that is how he got his wealth.

Both  the young and old Malong denied being related to each other.

“I am not a son of General Malong. When you’re calling me his son, you are abusing me. I am Lawrence Lual Malong Yor Jr. I always mention it in every video, even the video I’m swimming in money. My dad is Lual Malong Yor Snr. Then I became Lual Malong Yor Jr,” the young Malong said during an interview with Kenya’s Citizen Television recently.
