Shumuk charged with 13 counts of forgery

Kampala businessman Mukesh Shukla also known as Shumuk has been charged with 13 counts related to forgery and uttering false documents.

Mukesh who was arrested on Monday is accused of forging official letters of the handover of Hotel Diplomat in Muyenga purported to be from a number of the late Eng. Bonney Katatumba's relatives.

Prosecution alleges that in April 2015, Mukesh together with others still at large forged 13 letters official letters of handover purported to have been signed by Angella Katatumba, Ann Grace Katatumba, Rugirwa Katatumba, Ian Katatumba and ASP George William Karyegira.

He was also accused of presenting the forged documents to Makindye magistrates court with an intent to defraud.

He has however denied the charges before Buganda road magistrate Stella Amabilis.
