Cranes steps up preps for Cape Verde game

RITA TUGUMISIRIZE

Uganda  Cranes will host Cape Verde this Saturday, 17th November at Mandela National Stadium as the hosts seek to seal their place in the 2019 African Cup of Nations finals.

All Uganda needs is a draw against Cape Verde to play in next year’s AFCON.

Indian based Khalid Aucho , Kazier Chiefs defender Godfrey Walusimbi and SV Ried’s Edrisa Lubega are the latest foreign based players to join the Uganda Cranes camp.

According to Walusimbi, all players will be aiming for the kill against the blue sharks on the 17th of November.

“A draw is enough but we are aiming for a win," said the defender.

"The team is positive, we shall make sure we win that game to qualify for the 2019 AFCON, a win is better than a draw."

Uganda tops Group L with 10 points, 6 ahead of third placed Cape Verde.
