The MP for Kyadondo East, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (aka Bobi Wine) today visited the survivors of Bududa landslides.

Bobi Wine was accompanied by fellow MPs Gerald Karuhanga, Angelina Osege, Gafa Mbwatekamwa, Paul Mwiru, Theodore Sekikubo, Winnie Kiiza, Sylvia Akello, John Baptist Nambeshe among others.

The team condoled those who lost loved ones and donated mattresses, blankets and soap among others.

Following last week’s heavy downpour in the area, River Suume burst its banks forcing a large mass of water, and rolling boulders down the slopes in Bukalasi, Bududa.

These destroyed and washed over 139 households and 43 lives have been lost.

Bududa is known among the top disaster prone areas in the country but calls from government for people to relocate to other areas have always fallen on deaf ears.

In 2010, over 350 people died in this area and hundreds of households were buried.

The same happened in 2011 and 2012.
