Police in Kakira, Jinja District, have arrested two people including; a 14-year old for allegedly being in possession of army fatigues and a toy gun.

According to Kakira DPC, James Wamunyerere, the suspects; Waiswa Ayubu, 41, a resident of Wairaka and Godfrey Ogoola, 14 years, a resident of Wandago, had been held by residents who were about to lynch them when the police arrived.

“The other suspects escaped towards the sugar cane, and these two were arrested with a bag containing army uniform and a toy gun,” he said.

“The community being victims of the robberies all the time wanted to put them out of action but I arrived very fast and saved their lives by bringing them to the police station,” he added.

In August, robbers stormed OBK Rice Millers in Jinja Town and shot dead Kaweesi Bin Sali, a cashier and injured one more person, before making off with money and other items.
