Mumbere committed to crimes division of high court

HAKIM KANYERE

The Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley  and his royal guards have been committed to the International Crimes Division of the high court.

The kingdom’s attorney General Alfred Makasi said his committal has frustrated their plans of seeking permission from the High Court in Jinja to allow the King to go back to Kasese.

Mumbere who is facing several charges including terrorism, treason, murder, aggravated robbery among others has been in house incarceration at his Muyenga palace since he was granted bail last.

The committal means that the state now has evidence to conduct a trial against Mumbere.

His legal team is said to be putting together their defence awaiting another protracted legal battle in the International Crimes Division of the High Court (ICD).

This after High court in Jinja committed the embattled King to ICD.

Makasi said his committal to the ICD has frustrated their plans of seeking court to allow him go to Kasese and they have since withdrawn the application.
