DP President Norbert Mao announced the suspension at the party's weekly press briefing today.

The reunion caravan was scheduled to head to Jinja and cover the Busoga region after coming from Masaka. Before Masaka, the caravan had gone through Makerere, Gulu and Mukono.

The DP reunion caravan is supposed to cover 20 sub-regions of Uganda. The caravan is supposed to foster unity in the Democratic Party which has suffered from members breaking away to form rival parties or factions for several decades now.
