VIDEO: Museveni lashes out at past leaders over lack of respect for cultural institutions
President Yoweri Museveni has lashed out at the past national leaders for abolishing the cultural institutions in the Country, arguing they lacked value and respect the Ugandan Culture.
Museveni’s message was carried by the Vice President, Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi who officiated the 4th Coronation ceremony of the Kyabazinga of Busoga Wilberfoce Gabula Nadiope IV held at Bugweri Saaza ground in the newly created district of Bugweri in Busoga.

Ssekandi also commended the Institution of the Obwakyabazinga for the cordial relationship with the Central government.
“Our kingdoms are much older than the political units. Their history in Uganda is therefore of great importance,” Ssekandi read.
“I ma gratified to note with appreciation, the NRM government has enjoyed cordial and very healthy relationship with the Kingdom,” he added
By 7am, thousands of Busoga loyalists had started thronging Bugweri Sazza ground to join commemorate the coronation ceremony of the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Kadhumbula IV since his installation on the 13th of September 2013.

The Kyabazinga arrived at the ceremonial ground at 1pm started by visiting exhibition stalls before waving to his subjects.
The Kyabazinga was then exposed to the cultural practice of drumming the royal drum.

In his message to his subjects, the Kyabazinga of Busoga Wilberforce gabula Nadiope IV encouraged the people of Busoga to educate their Children in addition to ensuring the growing of both food and cash crops in their families.
