Bobi Wine driver’s family demand postmortem report, support from government

The family of late Yasin Kawuma, who was shot by security forces during the fracas in Arua Municipality campaigns, are demanding for the postmortem report for the deceased, whom they claim was their sole bread winner.

According to the deceased’s elder brother Sabiiti Male, Kawuma left a number of children who are in need of support in terms of school fees and proper shelter.

“None of the children is at the university, may be one of them called Edirisa is about to complete his S.6 but we are not sure this will happen, we need to help these children to study because education is now key for success in this country,” he said.

“My brother died on August 13, but the government has never come out with a conclusive report about his death until this day and that is what pains me. They have tried to tell stories that they stoned the President’s car but what I know he died while in a car, how would he have thrown stones while sitting in a car,” he added.

Indeed, the government has mentioned cases of death in Mityana following a protest regarding the state of health for area member of parliament Francis Butebi Zaake.

President Museveni also dispatched a team to get in touch with families of the deceased in Mityana.

However, neither the government nor Bobi Wine who was the deceased’s employer have come out to offer the company any form of material support.
