But did Tarrus Riley come to Uganda?

Opinions

Jamaican artiste, Tarrus Riley was the talk of my hangout circle for close to a week, with everyone asking; “Are you going for the show?” while aggressive ones like my colleague Baker kept shoving their complimentary tickets (as if they had paid top dollar for them) under my nose, rubbing me with envy.

Well it was not long and the day finally came, Tarrus Riley was so close, and the night had arrived, but I would not be there for I was ambushed, arrested, and detained by my spouse for most of the evening.

I couldn’t walk, I could not talk (about anything Tarrus Riley) unless with difficulty. I sat with my captor at the Golf Course Revolving restaurant while eating my version of matooke and tea and hearing chants from Lugogo stadium calling; #FreeHimForTarrus, #FreeHimFor Tarrus.  At about 11:00pm, my charges were withdrawn and I was driven straight to the next detention- Home.

My pleas for further treatment outside home, probably at the Lugogo Stadium were canceled out, for the Tarrus Riley musical treatment was almost done. It is at this time, that I was allowed access to visit the internet and there was a whole trend- Bebe Cool booed, barked, bogolakod off stage.

As I was still sieving through which sources to believe and sipping from a mineral water bottle I had got at the restaurant earlier, Baker stormed the house, kicked down the door and said: “You have the weapons that have caused chaos in Lugogo.”

He added: “You people have stoned Bebe Cool and chased him off stage.”

I thought this was strange, how could he accuse a man who had been in the house watching news (on social media) of stoning the President’s envoy!

Well, he soon unleashed videos of certain fans clashing with the president’s envoy, throwing bottles and whatever they could land on. Soon I learnt there was more content on the internet and several analyses.

Social Media broke down, all I could see was Bebe Cool this and Bebe Cool that and how people were praising while others castigating the Social Friday Community (SFC) for beating the hell out of Bebe.

I tried to scan around for more content, mostly involving my candidate Tarrus Riley in vain. It was not until Monday, that I saw a few pictures of him performing.

Tarrus Riley came into the country through the front door literary, I hope he did not go through the back, for he and the organisers must be so unhappy with the way Bebe Cool made him so invisible for completely the wrong reasons.

Is Bebe Cool that important? Or is he that much hated? Does he pose a threat to the government ( I mean the peoples government)? The SFC maintains Bebe Cool is a victim of his own indiscipline and recklessness.

Bebe Cool several hours after the show involving the Jamaican star is still the talk of the city, several hours after his birthday party, he announced he was going to keep away from the public for sometime, this is when I expected to hear analysis on Tarrus Riley’s performance, but still a debate on Bebe Cool and what this means for him.

While I run around seeking may be video clips of Tarrus Riley’s performance so I make my own judgment, all I run into are videos of Bebe Cool claiming someone else somewhere has big heavy shoes.

I have a question for whoever is willing to answer me- Did Tarrus Riley really come? Or it was fake news?
