The lawyers representing Robert Kyagulanyi (aka Bobi Wine), the Kyandondo East MP, have arrived in Gulu ahead of the army court trial.

Kyagulanyi was flown to Gulu from Makindye barracks last evening.

The trial is going to take place at the 4th division headquarters in Gulu.

Medard Ssegona and Nicholas Opiyo, the lawyers arrived minutes ago together with Barbara Itungo, the wife of Kyagulanyi.

Opiyo said they were ready to represent Bobi Wine although he could not tell the direction the case will take.

In a brief interview with The Nile Post, Itungo said she "hoped for the best" as she made her way into the 4th division headquarters where the the court will sit.

Also in Gulu is former FDC president, Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu, who said the behaviour of the army must be condemned.

"Its unfortunate whats been happening. The beating up of MPs, journalists, people who were doing their own business. It looks like the army find themselves caught up between a rock and a hard place. We are going to continue speaking to commanders to know that they must exercise the responsibility of being in uniform with discipline. If they don't exercise responsibility the country can skid into a situation which none of us wants to," Muntu said.
