Museveni behaving like King Herod- Matembe

Former minister for Ethics and integrity, Miria Matembe has lashed out at President Museveni, calling him the King Herold of today in reference to the arrest and consequent torture of Members of Parliament including; Kyadondo East legislator, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine.

The ‘venom spitting’ Matembe, closed inside the walls of Human Rights House in Nsambya, Kampala, amidst other Civil Society Organisations’ officials, said Museveni wont intimidate them.

“I have listened to the President and the army spokesperson and they have no remorse whatsoever. I want to tell President Museveni to stop behaving like King Herod who ordered the killing of all boys just because he feared for his throne,” Matembe said.

“How can the only Ssabalwani fear Kyagulanyi, he has stop being Ssaabalwanyi. We are not going to be intimidated,” she roared from inside the facility.

Matembe claimed the Museveni and his army had lost humanity, hinting on his statement in which he said the bedridden Mityan Municipality legislator, Francis Zaake had escaped from police custody.

“Hon Zaake was dumped for dead, but Museveni said he was on the run, the president is out of his mind. Human beings have lost their humanity,” she said.

The group that included; CCEDU country coordinator, Crispin Kaheru, Social Media critic, Stella Nyanzi, among others danced to Bobi Wine’s freedom song, while raising #FreeBobiWine placards amidst heavy deployment of cameras.

Meanwhile, President Museveni yesterday said that MP Kyagulanyi alongside his irate supporters in Arua attacked his convoy, prompting a reply from his elite Special Forces Command.

Museveni castigate the behaviour of the legislator and his colleagues in a statement on his Facebook page.
