Lukwago, Human Rights Commission head camp at Makindye to see Bobi Wine

Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, alongside Uganda Human Rights Commission Chairman Med Kaggwa have Friday morning camped at Makindye Military barracks in the hope of being granted access to see detained Kyadondo East Legislator, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alias Bobi Wine.

Also with them is Makindye Urban Division Mayor Ali Mulyanyama. The group is yet to be granted access.

Bobi Wine was remanded to makindye barracks yesterday following a quiet appearance in Gulu Court Martial.

Kyagulanyi was arrested on Tuesday following a scuffle that saw Kassiano Wadri’s supporters allegedly stoned President Museveni’s convoy in Arua on Monday evening.

However, according to a statement by the army spokesperson, Brig.Richard Karemire, Kyagulanyi was on Thursday afternoon arraigned before the General Court Martial that sat in Gulu and slapped with a number of charges.

“Consequently, Hon Kyagulanyi has today been arraigned before the General Court Martial in Gulu and charged under Section 119 (1) (h) of the UPDF Act, 2005 on accounts of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition,” Brig.Karemire said.

According to the government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo, Bobi Wine now shares cells with Boda Boda 2010 patron Abdallah Kitatta.
