A group of Rwandan traditional dancers early this week turned up at the Arsenal Training Centre in London Hertfordshire, to surprise players who were undergoing drills in preparation for the weekend game against champions Manchester City.

The group of about 10 troupers putting on headdresses with glasslike wigs marched in drumming and chanting victory to the unsuspecting players. One by one of the players started adjusting and looking to the direction of the marching dance troupe before the two groups came with in logical distance and the Intore dance began.

The group danced while the players clapped and the willing ones joined in.

“We are here to surprise the Arsenal team with performance of the Intore dance from Rwanda. Intore literally means the chosen one,” the dance troupe head said.

“The dance symbolizes pride and the chant is a call for victory,” he added.

Among the players available during training were; Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Alex Iwobi, Mohammad Elneny, Hector Bellerin, Alexandre Lacazette, and Shkodran Mustafi among others.

At one time, Mustafi, Aubemeyang and Elneny joined in the dance. Arsenal FC would later tweet; “It was just a normal day at training... ...and then this happened,” attaching the video as well.
