City business man, Hassan Basajjabalaba who also doubles as the Chairman Board of Trustees at Kampala International University over the weekend expressed gratitude to president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for arresting and detaining former Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura saying it is the ‘best decision’.

In his address to the over 2410 graduands at Kampala International University’s 18th graduation ceremony on Saturday 23rd, June 2018 , Basajjabalaba noted that sacking Kayihura was for the better but arresting him was the best decision.

“Your excellency, I would like to thank you and tell you that sacking and arresting the former IGP (Kale Kayihura) was the best decision.” The KIU director said in a speech.

He added on that President Museveni is a very lucky person who should go to church and pray to God because He (God) likes him.

“Your excellency you are very lucky, you are golden, you should go to church and pray to God because God likes you,” Basajjabalaba added

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who was also a chief guest at the graduation ceremony remained tight lipped about the arrest in his speech.

Instead, he thanked Basajjabalaba for the ‘never give up’ attitude and his exemplary entrepreneurial skills. President Museveni also asked the graduates to emulate their director and avoid being idle.

“I must commend Mr Hassan Basajjabalaba, the proprietor of this university. He has multiplied his talents. He is generally restless, always trying out something new. Sometimes he fails, at times he succeeds. He is a good entrepreneurial example for young people,” Museveni said.

“Again, I congratulate the graduands and I urge you to listen to the counsel of your vice chancellor. He said, keep alive. Be disciplined and do not get ruined by alcohol, sex, food, etc,” he added.

Prominent among the graduands, was Hon. Anita Among, the Woman member of parliament for Bukedea district who graduated with a Bachelor of Laws. She received a plaque from President Museveni for her contributions to the Kansanga based university.
