The Army has issued a statement on the detention of former IGP Kale Kayihura.
According to the statement “The general was indeed flown to Kampala from his farm in Kashagama Lyantonde District and is being questioned on a matter the details of which cannot at this point be divulged.”
The statement with was signed by Brig. Richard Karemire the Army spokesperson further elaborated that Kayihura is accessible by his family members and lawyers.
The statement which comes amidst speculation on what exactly the five-star general is being charged with.
Gen.Kayihura was picked up by an army helicopter from his country home in Kashagama Lyatonde District yesterday and is being detained at Makindye barracks.
