Real Madrid announce Spain's coach as replacement for Zidane

Real Madrid have announced Spanish national team coach, Julen Loptegui will be their new coach starting with next season.

Julen Lopetegui will join the club after the participation of the Spanish team in the World Cup, after two years leading the national team.

A statement from the club reads; "Julen Lopetegui will be the coach of Real Madrid after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Born 28 August 1966 (51), Julen Lopetegui is a former Spanish footballer who played as a goalkeeper, and is the manager of the Spain national team.

He played 149 games in La Liga over 11 seasons, appearing in the competition forReal Madrid, Logrones, and Rayo Vallecano. He added 168 matches in Segunda División with three clubs, and represented Spain at the 1994 World Cup.

Lopetegui started working as a manager in 2003, and spent several years in charge ofSpain's youth teams. He led the under-19 andunder-21 sides to European titles.
