Abiriga death big robbery to NRM- Party

The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has labelled the murder of their ‘yellow man”, Arua Municipality Member of Parliament, Ibrahim Abiriga a big robbery to the party.

The legislator has been household name in the country for deliberately donning party colors head to toe and jumping on to support the party positions and policies without second thought.

The Party’s Secretary General, Kasule Lumumba says they have lost a loyal cadre.

“Hon. Abiriga has been a staunch member of NRM whose loyalty to the Party was well known to all concerned. He hasn't only been a loyal member but supportive to all initiatives of the NRM government.,” a statement from the NRM secretariat reads in part.

"We are robbed of a loyal cadre of NRM and an open minded legislator. I pray that the security agencies trace these assassins and bring them to face the law. We shall greatly miss him,” the statement continues.

Abiriga was shot a few meters from his home in Kawanda, eye witnesses say that the yellow man had approached home when he stopped to greet kids who were singing him praises.

Unfortunately for Abiriga, people had been trailing him and on stopping, he was showered with bullets. Abiriga’s body has been delivered to the Mulago morgue.
