Uganda Cup: KCCA FC rout Synergy to storm finals

Defending champions KCCA FC on Thursday walloped Masaka based Synergy FC to book a place in this year’s Uganda Cup finals.

Having missed out on defending the Azam Uganda Premier League on the final day to Kitende based Vipers, the Kasasiro boys played like a wounded lion in a bid to reclaim their position in the Uganda Cup.

A hat-trick from Patrick Kaddu, braces from youngster Allan Okello and Steven Sserwadda plus goals from Solomon Okwalinga and Jackson Nunda were enough for the Lugogo based side to silence their critics.

Speaking during the post-match press conference, KCCA FC tactician Mike Mutebi was full of praises for his players for the rout.

“It was a great performance from the players and we could have even scored more. We are set for the finals and ready to whoever qualifies,”Mutebi said.

However, Synergy coach, Brian Ssenyondo could not believe what had befallen his team at the Star Times stadium on Thursday afternoon.

“I am not sure what happened today. I am very disappointed. However, we pick positives from this campaign,”Ssenyondo said.

KCCA FC , who beat Paidha Black Angels to lift the trophy last year will now face the winner between Vipers and SC Villa who play their semifinal game later today(Friday).
