Vipers, SC Villa to renew rivalry after Uganda Cup draw

Giants SC Villa and their Kitende based foes will  renew their rivalry later this month as they faceoff in the Uganda Cup semifinals.

In draws held on Wednesday morning at FUFA house in Mengo, Vipers will play SC Villa as KCCA FC will entertain Synergy FC in the semifinals that will be played on May 23,27, 30 and 31 on a home and away basis.

Renewed rivalry

The game between SC Villa and Vipers will be a renewed battle on another front between the two sides apart from the Uganda Premier League.

SC Villa will be seeking to avenge against their foes who completed a double against them in the league previously.

Both team were until recently on neck to neck in the Azam Uganda Premier League until recently when the Masaka based team removed the foot from the accelerator for Vipers to move far from reach on the log.

Currently Vipers are leading the 16 team log in the league with 59 points, six above third placed Villa with less than games to complete the league.

The record league champions SC Villa will host Vipers in Masaka on May 23 before a return leg match on May 30 at the St.Marys stadium in Kitende.
