Ministers Bahati, Nankabirwa survive Helicopter crash

State Minister for planning, David Bahati and Government Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa have escaped death after a helicopter they were in got tangled with electric wires, forcing a crash landing.

The incident happened at about 6:30pm at Kabale Golf Course at Makanga Hill in Kabale District, where the two ministers accompanied by Rukiga District Woman Member of Parliament, Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi had gone to officiate a belated women’s day celebration.

The event was hosted at St. Barnabas Secondary School Karujanga in Katuna Town council, Ndorwa West County and Nankabirwa was guest of honour.

But as the ministers made their way back in the chartered aircraft registration number 5X-KEG,  the helicopter got tangled in electric wires on takeoff forcing the pilot to crash land.

The occupants disembarked the helicopter unhurt.

Nankabirwa recently equated President Museveni to Jesus Christ, saying the NRM chairman is devoted like the saviour and his intellect can only be compared to God’s.
