Legend artiste John Kaahwa improves, but needs financial assistance

News of music legend John Kaahwa filtered through social media showing the iconic star in critical condition.

The former member of Kads band was also pronounced dead by a series of social media commentators, however his colleagues issued a disclaimer that the Purukeria singer was improving and had was due to be operated on at Naguru.

Kaahwa in the images looked like he was in the evening of his life, frail, and critical.

However, the good news is that sources close to Kaahwa claim the singer is improving and will be discharged soon.

However, the family is still short of finances to clear the heavy bill and thus have called upon for financial assistance.

Akiiki Romeo, one of the members of the Kads band with Kaahwa said that the patient “sounded cheerful, optimistic and determined to overcome the current situation”.

“Good people, thank for your prayers. John Kaahwa is being discharged from The Surgery this afternoon. Insha Allah! We are trying to clear the hospital bill, which isn't small. Anyone with something small to give, please do so. Like I said, I will give you the contact of the point person who is by his side. I had a hearty and lengthy chat with John Kaahwa on phone earlier on today. He sounded cheerful, optimistic and determined to overcome the current situation. Once again, let's help a brother and father. Thank you all for your kind gesture. John Kaahwa sends you his love and appreciation for all the thoughtfulness and support rendered. God bless you all,” Akiiki Romeo posted.

Kaahwa along side Akiki Romeo were founder members of the once popular Kads band which tore apart about a decade ago. They also had members; Titi Tabel, Prossy Kankunda and Benard Munyigwa.

Kads band won several accolades for their songs and so did Kaahwa whose music was mostly on Runyoro/Rutooro. Among his songs included the popular Huura Mwiguru nibanyeta.
