NRM secretariat cautions public on impersonators

 

The NRM Secretariat has warned the general public that there is an unscrupulous person impersonating Dr. Kenneth Omona, the deputy National Treasurer and soliciting money from members the public .

The party said that the suspect, whose identity was not disclosed, has on several occasions used text and WhatsApp messages or called ministers, Members of Parliament, the clergy, relatives, friends and security personnel among other categories of the public , commonly using 0716711541 among others , to borrow money or ask for financial support on allegations of being sick, stranded within or abroad or being in an emergency situation requiring urgent attention.

"This act has been on going for over six months and we perceive it as an attempt to tarnish the personal image of Dr Kenneth Omona and/or the institution of the NRM secretariat. This matter has already been reported to the police and investigations are on- going," notes a statement signed by Rogers Mulindwa, a communication officer at the secretariat.

The statement implores the public to be vigilant against such unscrupulous people to avoid falling victims to their acts and report to the police or in this case to our security desk at the party headquarters located on Plot 10, Kyadondo road in Kampala.
