President Museveni orders suspension of senior immigration officials

President Museveni has ordered for the immediate suspension of two senior officers in the immigration directorate over allegations that they misused funds for the procurement of the the E-passport equipment.

Information streaming in shows that the suspended officers are: Godfrey Sasaga (pictured above), the director Immigration and Commissioner, Anthony Namara.

The president has reportedly ordered the two to handover office to the permanent secretary in the ministry of Internal Affairs, Dr Benon Mutambi Mugisha.

Over the last two years, Uganda has been in the process of procuring the E-Passports.

The process has been marred by allegations of corruption leading to a number of meetings between President Museveni and immigration officials.

We have been told that the investigations into the alleged misuse of the funds was reportedly done by Special Forces Command.
