Renowned Kampala reckless driver knocks woman dead in Naalya

Friends, relatives, and family woke up to tragic news of the demise of Kasaijja Maureen Kobusinge who was knocked dead by a speeding car while returning home to her 5-year old daughter.

Kobusingye, an engineer and surveyor with National Water and Sewerage Corperation (NWSC) was knocked dead by a speeding Mercedes benz, registration number UAQ, 442 V around Naalya, a Kampala suburb.

Kobusingye according to friends was a single mother to a 5-year old girl and cousin to the late Susan Magara who was kidnapped and eventually murdered last month.

Meanwhile, several people have taken to social media after the incident, while others are sending through their condolences, others say they have encountered the driver of the car that knocked Kobusingye dead and can attest to his recklessness.

“That driver can never be behind someone for even one minute, he is so fast and recklessly impatient. He sometimes uses the bypass then goes through Ntinda or Bukoto,” a witness said.

“The driver of that car is the most reckless I know. I have had a close shave with it twice in the morning on the bypass. In fact, even my daughter knows its number plate by heart. I knew some day the driver would cause an accident.  So sad that someone is dead,” a motorist said on social media.

According to witnesses, the driver of the mercedes benz fled the scene and has since been missing.

Kobusinge’s body is currently at Rubaga cathedral for requiem service.
