Former Buyende District Police Commander ASP Muhammad Kirumira has asked the police court for protection from unknown assailants.

Kirumira who is accused of a number of offences related to torture, extortion and unnecessary exercise of authority was recently released on bail.

On Thursday, the maverick police officer told the court chaired by Denis Odongpiny that he is concerned over two motorcycles that keep following him.

He told court that he has reported a case at Lungujja police post before  asking  for Protection whenever he is going  to the police court at Naguru  and the Professional Standards Unit in Bukoto as part of his bail conditions.

However,in response,Odongpiny said he could rule on the matter next week when all members of the court are available. He adjourned the case to Tuesday March 6.
