NSSF offers free hepatitis B screening, yellow fever vaccination countrywide

The National Social Security Fund has kicked off its Annual Customer Connect Week with a series of activities meant to give back to its members.

Speaking at the opening function on Monday at the Constitutional Square in Kampala, NSSF Managing Director Richard Byarugaba said the services will not only benefit their members but also their relatives and surrounding communities.

“These activities affirm our objective of providing a better life for our members,” Byarugaba said.

Among the activities will include; a free medical camp that will provide Hepatitis B screen, yellow fever vaccination, diabetes and blood pressure screening among other ailments.

He explained that now in its 5th year, the NSSF Customer Connect week aims at increasing the customer engagement and collecting feedback in order to improve its their customer service experience.

“I am happy to note that through this and other customer focused initiatives, we have witnessed the Fund’s customer satisfaction rate grow to 92% as at December 2017 from 49% seven years ago.”

The activities will also include financial literacy trainings and education of NSSF members so as to equip them with financial knowledge, as well as a medical camp to avail free health care to surrounding communities.

The financial literacy trainings will focus on topics including saving, investment, planning for retirement, personal finance management and debt management to be supplemented by financial advisory services from the Fund’s investment team, Capital Markets Authority, Uganda Registrations Services Bureau, Uganda Law Society and the Uganda Securities Exchange.

The exercise will also see members taken through the fund’s e-service channels and how they operate in a bid to improve convenience and efficiency.

The camp that started on Monday is scheduled to end on Thursday 22nd February at the Constitutional Square in Kampala and at the Fund’s branches countrywide.
