Amuriat warns Muntu over consultative meetings

The President for Forum for Democratic Change, Patrick Amuriat has said that Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu, his predecessor, should be careful about his consultative meetings arguing they are not sanctioned by the party.

Appearing on NBS TV's Morning Breeze show, Amuriat said that as far as the party is concerned, what Muntu is doing is a personal activity.

"We shall not hesitate to take action on Muntu if what he is doing is detrimental to our structures," Amuriat says

In January this year, Muntu embarked on a consultative process regarding the way forward. Some people suggested that he was trying to seek consensus on whether to form another political party. Currently he is in Gulu meeting party delegates.

Meanwhile, Amuriat has laughed off critics who say the Tubalemese campaign has been a failure.

Amuriat cited intern doctor’s strike and the act  of clerics standing up to Museveni on retirement as fruits of the Tubalemese campaign.
