Saudi ambassador visits Next Media, affirms strong bond between Kampala and Riyadh

The Saudi Arabian ambassador to Uganda, Dr Abdullah Fahd Al Qahtani today visited Next Media offices on Media Plaza where he interacted with the top management and staff.

While interacting with staff, the ambassador assured that Ugandans working in Saudi Arabia are safe and sound.

He applauded Next Media through its TV channels for educating Ugandans and Muslims at large.

Next Media owns NBS TV, Nile Post, Sanyuka TV, Salam TV and Dreamcatcher Productions.

Salam TV targets the Muslim viewership.

"My presence here at Next Media is a visit to all Ugandans. I have observed the connection Ugandan Muslims and non Muslims in working together. I applaud Ugandan Muslims for they are not extremists and they continue to fight terrorism," he said.

The ambassador said besides Uganda's export of labour to Saudi Arabia, the two countries will sign partnerships in other trade areas.

"The relationship between Uganda and Saudi will be enhanced in the different areas of: civil aviation, investment and trade, fight against terrorism and labour," he said.

Kin Kariisa, the Chief Executive Officer of Next Media applauded the ambassador for the visit and for Saudi's continued support towards strengthening the Muslim faith in Uganda.

He said through Salam TV, Next Media shall maintain its focus on issues that affect Muslims .

"The future relationship between  Next Media, the Saudi government and Uganda at large is promising," he said.
