A soldier attached to the President’s office was this morning found dead in a Kampala guest house.

Capt. Noah Aluma Ariku, an assistant private secretary to the president in matters of security, according to a business card found in his possession, was found dead at Kagujje Guest House in Kibuuye, along Entebbe road where he had spent the night.

One of the Capt Aluma’s acquaintances, Lemeriga Fadhil who broke the news of his passing on social media claims that the deceased was due to travel to Arua this morning only for his colleagues to repeatedly call and knock on his door without reply.

“The door was thus broken with the help of the guest house attendants only to find him dead,” he said.

According Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owyesigire, they were informed about 10:00am by the guest house’s management. On reaching the scene, they found Aluma had already passed on.

“The business cards found with him indicate he was attached to the President’s office as assistant private secretary in charge of security at the rank of captain.  We are not sure if this is his real job description,” Oweyesigire said.

He also said the body of Aluma has been taken to Mulago for a postmortem report as the manager of the guest house where Aluma’s body was found records a statement with police.

Oweyesigire adds that on contacting one of the deceased’s children, she confirmed that the her father had been sickly previously, “but we shall not rule out anything, we can confirm only after the postmortem.”
