"No rift between opposition, NRM in Parliament", say House leaders

The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga and the Leader of Opposition Winnie Kiiza have dismissed rumours that there is a growing rift in the House between NRM and opposition legislators.

Kadaga said: "The day the bill was amended, we met and danced together here without any fight at our end of year party."

Winnie Kiiza said: "Even in families were husbands and wives fight, they unite together and this is manifested when they produce twins."

Ever since article 102(b) was amended, there has been growing tension between the two sides .

During the hotly contested debate on the removal of the age-limit, Kadaga suspended eight MPs accusing them of wrecking havoc in the House.

The MPs in turn sued Kadaga accusing her of suspending them wrongfully.
