FDC official attacks Miria Matembe for criticising Col Kizza Besigye
Harold Kaija, the deputy secretary general of FDC, has attacked Dr Miria Matembe for criticising Dr Kizza Besigye over the "Tubalemese" campaign.
Appearing on Frontline, a popular talk-show on NBS TV last week, Matembe, a former minister for Ethics, likened Besigye to Museveni saying he had dominated opposition space.
She said Besigye needs to come up with better strategies of confronting the regime saying campaigns like "Tubalemese" launched last week will not work.
But Kaija said Matembe had been a tad unfair to Besigye.
He said: "In order to stay in power, Mr Museveni uses the coercive force (Armed forces), state resources, the propaganda arm of government and state institutions like executive, parliament and the judiciary.
Which of the above does Dr. Besigye use to stay in power? Madam Matembe should know that politics is like a market place where players are the vendors of ideas and strategies which they front to the population (buyers) who are in this case the buyers."

Kaija said Besigye had not stopped anyone within the opposition from developing good ideas and strategies to sell to the population and remove Museveni.
Instead of demonising Besigye, Kaija opined that Matembe and company should design strategies that work better than what the former FDC leader has put in the market.
"We can defeat Mr. Museveni if only we can aggregate our ideas, strategies and efforts. It makes no sense to first break the leg of your teammate in the training ground in order to get a chance to be selected by the coach to play. The right thing to do is just train hard and be more smarter than your competitor in the team," Kaija said.
