Cranes lose to Congo in last friendly as Desabre names final CHAN squad

Uganda Cranes were yesterday beaten 1-0 by Congo Brazzaville in the last friendly game before the CHAN championship.

Speaking after the game, Cranes Coach Sebastian Desabre  said the loss should not dampen hopes.

"We now stay focused for the official game. We had a good first half with a good organisation we had one or two chances to 1 - 2 to score. It wasn't easy but we played a good team of Congo. Now we must prepare for our next game against Zambia in the CHAN," Desabre said. Uganda plays Zambia on January 14 in its opening game.

The Frenchman also announced the final 23 man squad for CHAN after the friendly.

Other players : Nico Wakiro Wadada, Joseph Nsubuga, Awanyi Timothy, Mustapha Mujuzi, Muwanga Bernard, Muleme Isaac, Madoi Aggrey, Karisa Milton, Paul Mucureezi, Kyambadde Allan, Batte Seif, Senfuka Rahmat, Lwanga Taddeo, Kasule Abubaker, Waisswa Moses, Saddam Juma, Mutyaba Muzamir, Shaban Muhammad, Nsibambi Derrick, Senkatuka Nelson.

Two players, Tom Masiko andMustapha Kizza will return home from camp where they have been with the team in Rabat since last Thursday after they were dropped.

Uganda is in group B with Zambia, Ivory Coast and Namibia in CHAN that starts on January 12 2018.
