Parliament has dismissed claims that Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga was behind the alleged goons that stormed the High Court in Kampala and demonstrated against the summoning of the Speaker for alleged suspension of the six legislators.

The Director of communications at Parliament Chris Obore disclosed that the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga also got surprised to watch some NRM supporters on NBS TV demonstrating at the courts of Law.

On Wednesday this week, a section of NRM Supporters donned in yellow T- shirts stormed the High court in Kampala carrying placards in protest of the six legislators’ move, who petitioned against their suspension from the House by the Speaker.

“The Speaker Rebecca Kadaga never knew nor sanctioned any protests in court yesterday. Those peddling such allegations are looking for ways to keep their personal vendetta against the Speaker in the media,” Obore says.

Obore believes the NRM supporters behind the lifting of the Presidential age limit were the ones behind the storming of the court.

“I am the one who rang the Speaker and informed her about what was happening in court after I saw it on NBS tv live. “ Who are they ? Who sent them there , please find out and let me know”, she said. I found out the fellows are NRM cadres of sorts. Surely the Speaker cannot be in control of these people whom I am told always go for people who attack their party.”

Obore has also explained why Speaker Rebecca Kadaga’s presence was not realized in the court in spite of her receiving the summons.
