Brig.Kyanda bounces back as Chief of Staff Land Forces

The commander in chief of the armed forces, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has re-appointed Brigadier Leopold  Kyanda as the UPDF chief of Staff Land Forces in the new mini reshuffle.

According to the UPDF spokesperson Brig.Leopold Kyanda who has just completed studies in India will take back his office that he left over a year ago.

"Brig.Leopold Kyanda has been appointed the chief of staff land forces after graduating from the National Defence College, India,"said Brig.Karemire in a message.

Brig.Kyanda had previously served in the same position since 2013 until last year when he was sent to India for studies.

Brig.Tumusiime Katsigazi has been the serving in the position of Chief of Staff Land Forces.

Kyanda was last year relieved of his position before being sent to India following reports of his alleged involvement in a fake arms deal with a Polish company in which over two billion shillings exchanged hands in a non existent deal to supply with armoured personnel carriers.

In the new changes in the Ugandan army, Brig.Kayanja Muhanga who was recently replaced as the UPDF Contingent commander in Somali by Brig. Paul Lokech has been appointed the second division commander.

Brig.Lokech recently served in that position before being deployed to Somalia.
