Gen Muhoozi applauds Gen Katumba for efforts to unite soldiers’ wives, children

The Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi has applauded his predecessor Gen Edward Katumba Wamala for initiating efforts to bring together children and spouses of UPDF soldiers.

Gen.Muhoozi made the remarks on Tuesday during the second edition of the end of year party for children of UPDF soldiers at the First Infantry Division Headquarters at Kakiri in Wakiso district.

“The discrimination will be no more for this end of year party will be held annually so that our children can socialise amongst themselves and their parents,”Gen.Muhoozi said.

He extended a vote of thanks to his predecessor Gen Wamala for having started this kind of celebration that brings together children and spouses of UPDF soldiers.

Gen.Muhoozi said that the initiative was long over due because children and spouses of UPDF soldiers never get time to meet.

The CDF encouraged togetherness so as to help officers and men also impart values of love, hard work, discipline, patriotism, peace and stability and the UPDF principles into their children.

“The children are the future of Uganda and indeed for the UPDF.Their parents are called upon to prepare them for the future.”

He also implored soldiers to instill belief in God into their children so they can grow up with high moral standards
