Opposition absent as Parliament eulogizes MP William Beijukye

News coming in from Parliament indicates that the anticipated debate on the report on the age-limit bill has not been scheduled on the order paper today.

This however does not mean that the paper cannot be amended but as it stands, discussions on the report stand in balance.

Our reporter on the scene, Joseph Sabiiti, confirmed the development but he was quick to add that the order paper can be amended by the speaker.

Museveni chairs meeting

Meanwhile, President Museveni is today morning chairing the NRM caucus meeting ahead of the crucial debate on the report of the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee on the age-limit bill.

The meeting started at 10.30 am in the conference hall of the Office of the Prime Minister and is expected to end before 2.00PM.

The meeting is aimed at harmonising NRM MPs’ positions on the matter.

Eye-witnesses told The Nile Post that Security officers from the Special Forces Command have surrounded the conference hall
