Re-arrested Kaweesi murder suspects complain of torture

Two suspects accused of participating in the murder of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi who were recently rearrested have complained of torture while in detention.

Ahmed Ssenfuka  and Umaru Maganda through their lawyer Anthony Wameli told journalists shortly after the suspects being remanded on Thursday that they were tortured following the re-arrest.

"They say that they were tortured, blind folded and Maganda's walking stick was taken away from him, further injuring his leg,"Wameli said.

" They were also taken back to CMI where they were first tortured from and this traumatised them."

He said that they would now see if they can sue government over the torture. The group have now been remanded back to Luzira up to December 21.
