Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE) a civil society organisation advocating for women freedom has appealed for more investment in the health sector services.

FOWODE, in a survey dubbed the budget call center has revealed that a bigger percentage of the public think government should be prioritizing the health sector because services in the sector are still low with under facilitated departments.

‘’We have been receiving views from citizens on what government what they want to be government’s priority areas during the 2018/19 budget allocations in their respective areas,” Emma Kashaija, Program officer FOWEDE said.

“Most citizens are saying that more funds should be put in health, because they think   once you are healthy you are able to do everything.  And in the health sector maternal health needs more funds better services and even some hospitals under staffed.’’

The appeal comes when Doctors have spent a more than a week on strike wanting government to increase their salaries and people are stranded in hospitals.
