UPDF seek to ‘shoot down’ Police in Uganda Premier League

It will be a battle between two sister forces as UPDF FC host second placed  Police FC in the Azam Uganda Premier League on Tuesday at Bombo barracks grounds.

Following a good start in the season which has seen them collect 13 points and scored 10 goals in their first seven goals, Police FC will seek to continue with this impressive form exhibited under tactician Abdallah Mubiru.

In their previous game, Police tipped  Kirinya Jinja SS with a slim one nil win but according to Abdallah Mubiru tomorrow’s game is different from the ones they played against Kirinya but said his team will only aim at bagging all the three points during their trip to Bombo.

“You cannot compare UPDF’s style of play to the one of Kirinya but we shall take the game as it comes,”Mubiru said.

“We are playing away from home and facing a different challenge but we will try to get the best out of it.”

According to Mubiru, he does not have any injuries, neither does he have any suspended player and hope the team will deliver the job.

However, on the other side, the army side are performing poorly after collecting only five points out of the possible 21 in the seven games they have so far played.

UPDF were walloped by Proline FC by four goals to two in their previous Azam Uganda Premier League game played at Lugogo over the weekend.

The army side that is duck-seated in the relegation zone with only a point above bottom placed Masavu FC  will seek to shoot down the high flying Police FC so as to kick start   their journey to recovery.

In other games elsewhere, new league entrants Maroons FC   will host Lugogo based Proline FC in a game to be played at Luzira on Tuesday evening.

At Wankulukuku, struggling Express FC will host Bright stars from Mwererwe in another battle for supremacy in the Azam Uganda Premier League.
