Journalists shun DP press briefing after party officials fail to keep time

A press conference that was set to happen at Democratic Party (DP) headquarters in Kampala has flopped after journalists walked out in protest.

The briefing was due to start at 10:00am, but after waiting for over an hour and no party official turned up to address or give reason for the delay, the angry journalists decided to walk out in protests.

They accused the party of being disorganised.

“Whenever they call us for a press briefing, they do not keep time. They need to get more organised,” they chorused as they exited the room.

The press briefing was supposed to be addressed by the party's secretary general, Gerald Siranda, but to his dismay, when he came to address, he found no journalists available in the conference room.
