UPL: Bright stars shine over URA as Soana hold Mbarara city

Mwererwe based side, Bright Stars on Tuesday recorded their maiden victory against tax collectors, Uganda Revenue Authority in the Azam Uganda Premier League.

A forty third minute strike from skipper Nelson Ssenkatuuka that went beyond Mathias Muwanga’s reach was enough for the home side to silence the 2010/2011 league champions in Mwererwe.

Speaking shortly after the game, Bright Stars tactician Fred Kajoba said the win was a big boast to his team to the team’s target of finishing at least sixth on the sixteen team log.

“Since we have Ssenkatuuka who scores in almost every game, and the dream is alive,”Kajoba said. At Bugonga, home side Masavu FC lost all the three points after being beaten by fellow new league entrants, Maroons FC by a goal to nil in another battle for supremacy in the Azam Uganda Premier Legaue, thanks to Solomon Walusimbi’s eightieth minute goal.
