Woman accuses Bugiri MP of burning her car out of jealousy

The wife to Member of Parliament for Bukooli central in Bugiri District Sirwanyi Solomon, has pinned him for burning her vehicle a Toyota Spacio UAW 496K.

According to information before Nabweru Grade one Magistrate Paul Matyama , the MP in 2015 borowed the car from his then wife  Katono Kasifa but under unclear circumstances the car was reported burnt though the Mp who was driving it survived with minor burns on the hand.

Appearing before Nabweru court on Tuesday for cross examination of her former husband , Katono told the magistrate that all she wants is the NRM legislator to replace her burnt car and pay the costs for the suit.

Katono, a former researcher at the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) claims her ex husband was driven by envy to burn her car .

However the Nabweru Grade one Magistrate Matyama adjourned the cross axamination after Sirwanyi failed to turn up.

His lawyer David Ojambo told court that the MP was in a meeting of 'national importance'.

Later, when asked to contact him again , the lawyer said that the legislator's phones were out of reach prompting the magistrate to adjourn the matter to 21st December.

Through her lawyer Christine Mpumuire, Katono expressed discontent over what she called deliberate delays to deny her justice by her former husband.
