Ndikuno Rosemary, a nurse attached to Mulago hospital will be stripped off her practicing licence after court on Wednesday found her guilty of taking a Shs 100,000 bribe.

Ms Ndikuno pleaded guilty to taking the bribe along side a senior stores assistant, Laloka Rose Mary who were both convicted of embezzlement by anti corruption court’s grade one magistrates, Patricia Amoko and Lochomin Peter Fred respectively.

The duo was arrested by the state house health monitoring unit following reports of embezzlement and corruption in Mulago by patients (When were they arrested)

The ministry of health PS Diana Atwine confirmed receiving the court ruling and said steps are underway to deregister Ndikuno Rosemary for corruption and tainting the medical profession.

“With such cases I don’t think doctors should demand for disbanding of the health management unit and accuse us of mishandling medical professionals, we still have some corrupt and undisciplined medics like these ones to deal with” Dr Atwine explained.
