According to FUFA spokesperson Hussein Ahmed, Madagascar ,who flew in to Kampala on Sunday night flex muscles with the Cranes on Wednesday at the Star Times stadium, Lugogo.
“The match will help Uganda Cranes coach test the technical ability and mental strength of his players ahead of a crucial fixture against Ghana on Saturday. We believe Madagascar have the quality to give our team good preparations,” Ahmed Hussein said on the FUFA website.
The game against Madagascar will be the final test for head coach Moses Basena’s boys who beat Northern Uganda select team on Saturday, thanks to KCCA FC’s Derrick Nsibambi who scored a brace in Lira.
According to FUFA, the game on Wednesday at Lugogo will only be available for access to fans who have purchased the discounted tickets for the game against Ghana.Uganda will play against Ghana at Namboole on Saturday in Moses Basena’s third game as interim coach in the World Cup qualifiers.
He has previously guided Cranes past Egypt in his first game at home before losing to the same team in Alexandria.Egypt are top of group E on nine points and Uganda are second on seven points. Ghana are on the other side third on five points.The winner of the group will automatically qualify for the World Cup finals in Russia in 2018.
